Tip

Free during beta. Bring the agent you already pay for. PilotCut is the fastest editor for AI: 83 purpose-built tools, shaped by tens of thousands of hours of video-editing practice. Connect Claude Code, ChatGPT Codex, Grok Build, GitHub Copilot, OpenCode or Antigravity.

What do other AI editors meter?

Descript's help center describes new plans as two pools: media minutes and AI credits. The legacy-sunset article lists what draws on credits: Underlord, Studio Sound, effects, TTS, avatars and generative video. Its usage article adds: "Unused Media minutes and AI Credits don't roll over into the next cycle." See Descript's pricing page for current plans.

Palmier Pro requires macOS 26 on Apple Silicon. Its paid plans are monthly and built around generation credits, cloud transcription and Palmier chat. Releases through v0.7.6 were GPLv3. Later binaries are proprietary.

PilotCut does not sell a credit pack for the edit. Your agent bills to the plan you already pay for.

Why is PilotCut the pick on a Mac?

PilotCut was AI native from day one. The agent and the UI drive the same editor.

  • 83 purpose-built editing tools, shaped by tens of thousands of hours of video-editing practice.
  • Some edits that change meaning come back as a plan first. A second step applies them. That covers a timeline cut, a silence pass, chapters, captions and a voiceover swap.
  • The edit history keeps 250 entries that you and the agent can read.
  • You can hand the timeline to Final Cut Pro when a client asks for that project.
  • One project can output several aspect ratios, from 16:9 to 9:16 and 1:1.

How is PilotCut built?

The same tools you click are the tools Claude Code or ChatGPT Codex call. A cut you make by hand and a cut the agent applies land on one timeline. Undo works either way. Footage stays on your machine.

The only downside is there's almost no downside; we're video creators ourselves and know what you need.
