Tip

What does Kinocut ask of you?

Kinocut's GitHub README lists the setup: "Prerequisite: FFmpeg must be installed and available on PATH." The package needs Python 3.11 or later and installs with pip. Hyperframes tools "additionally need Node.js 22+".

The same README sets its own limits:

  • "Validate against your own requirements before production use."
  • "Older shim installer records can delete the shared executable during an upgrade"
  • "Web/mobile shared processing and native clients are not implemented in this release."

Why is PilotCut the fastest editor for AI?

PilotCut was AI native from day one. The agent and the UI drive the same editor.

  • 83 purpose-built editing tools, shaped by tens of thousands of hours of video-editing practice.
  • Some edits that change meaning come back as a list first. A second step applies them.
  • The edit history keeps 250 entries that you and the agent can read.
  • You can hand the timeline to Final Cut Pro when a client asks for that project.
  • Footage stays on your machine.

Bring Claude Code, ChatGPT Codex, Grok Build, GitHub Copilot, OpenCode or Antigravity.

How is PilotCut built?

The tools you click are the tools the agent calls. A cut you make by hand and a cut the agent applies land on one timeline. Undo works either way.

The only downside is there's almost no downside; we're video creators ourselves and know what you need.
