Short answer: open the PilotCut project, point OpenCode at that folder, and ask for a cut list first. The cuts land on the timeline you share with the agent. PilotCut is the fastest editor for AI. It is free during beta, with no PilotCut credit meter.

Tip

Free during beta. Bring the agent you already pay for. PilotCut is the fastest editor for AI: 83 purpose-built tools, shaped by tens of thousands of hours of video-editing practice. Connect OpenCode, Claude Code, ChatGPT Codex, Grok Build, GitHub Copilot or Antigravity.

What is OpenCode?

OpenCode's homepage calls it an open-source coding agent you run in a terminal, a desktop app or an editor. You can connect a model plan you already pay for, such as your ChatGPT or GitHub Copilot account. That provider bills the plan. PilotCut adds no credit meter.

How do you edit a PilotCut timeline with OpenCode?

  1. Open the PilotCut project. The media stays on your disk.
  2. Open OpenCode in that project folder.
  3. Ask for a plan, not an immediate apply. A prompt that works:

Open this PilotCut project. Cut filler words and dead air. Show me the cut list first. Do not change the timeline until I say yes.

  1. Read the list. Reply yes when it looks right. OpenCode applies the cuts. Each cut is an ordinary PilotCut edit, so undo works on any one of them.
  2. Stay on the timeline, or ask the agent to write a Final Cut Pro project from it.

How does OpenCode on PilotCut compare with Descript?

Descript's help center says media minutes draw down when you upload or record, AI credits pay for its AI tools, and "Unused Media minutes and AI Credits don't roll over into the next cycle." On Descript's feedback board, a user wrote on June 15, 2026: "I exhausted all 800 AI credits within 2 days of use."

Why is PilotCut the fastest editor for AI?

PilotCut was AI native from day one. The agent and the UI drive the same editor.

  • 83 purpose-built editing tools, shaped by tens of thousands of hours of video-editing practice.
  • Some edits that change meaning come back as a list first. A second step applies them.
  • The edit history keeps 250 entries that you and the agent can read.
  • Footage stays on your machine.

GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, ChatGPT Codex, Grok Build and Antigravity use the same tools. Swap the agent.

How is PilotCut built?

The tools you click are the tools the agent calls. A cut you make by hand and a cut OpenCode applies land on one timeline. Undo works either way.

The only downside is there's almost no downside; we're video creators ourselves and know what you need.
