Tip

Free during beta. Bring the agent you already pay for. PilotCut is the fastest editor for AI. Connect Claude Code, ChatGPT Codex, Grok Build, GitHub Copilot, OpenCode or Antigravity.

What do you need?

  • PilotCut. It runs on macOS and ships a Windows Beta.
  • Claude Code from Anthropic's documentation.
  • A talking-head or demo take with a voice track.

How do you run a silence pass with Claude Code?

  1. Open the project in PilotCut. The media stays on your machine.
  2. Make sure the take has a transcript. The agent cuts from the words.
  3. Start Claude Code in the folder that holds the project.
  4. Ask for the list first:

Cut silences, filler words and dead air on this timeline. Keep breaths that sound natural. Show me the cut list first. Do not apply anything until I say yes.

  1. Read the ranges. Check the first word after each cut.
  2. Reply yes. Claude Code applies the list. Each cut is an ordinary timeline edit, so undo works on any one of them.
  3. Play the take. Export when the pace feels right.

ChatGPT Codex, Grok Build, GitHub Copilot, OpenCode and Antigravity can run the same pass. The prompt stays the same.

How does this compare with cutting by hand?

What should the cut list include?

  • Long gaps between sentences.
  • Filler words you named.
  • False starts you do not want on the cut.

The agent proposes from the transcript. You keep the timeline. That is a real edit, not a new rendered file you cannot open again.

How is PilotCut built?

PilotCut is the fastest editor for AI: 83 purpose-built tools, shaped by tens of thousands of hours of video-editing practice. You and Claude Code drive the same editor. A silence pass that changes meaning comes back as a list first. A second step applies it. The edit history keeps 250 entries you can read back.

The only downside is there's almost no downside; we're video creators ourselves and know what you need.
