Is Descript a good AI editor on Windows?

It meters you twice. Descript's help center says media minutes draw down when you upload or record, AI credits pay for AI features, and "Unused Media minutes and AI Credits don't roll over into the next cycle." Its screen recorder page adds that "Descript does not currently support 4K screen recordings from Windows."

Users feel the meter. On Descript's feedback board (February 11, 2026): "After editing just one video all my monthly credits are gone. This is insane." More in Descript AI credits vs PilotCut.

Does invideo work with Claude Code on Windows?

invideo runs in the browser and connects Claude or ChatGPT over MCP. Its help center says generation through invideo MCP uses invideo credits, and credits also cover "agent processing."

The credit complaints on invideo's Trustpilot page are about that AI work. A Starter subscriber (October 5, 2026): "not even 15 minutes after beginning. I already used 94% of my monthly credits." Mathi (October 9, 2026): "the entire credit allowance was burned through after making just TWO brief videos with basic stock footage." Full comparison: invideo MCP vs PilotCut.

Can Jumper edit on Windows?

Jumper's agents page says agent editing, "people search, and advanced model options require Jumper Pro." Its agents build sequences in Premiere Pro, Resolve, Avid or Final Cut Pro, so you still finish the edit in that NLE. For Final Cut Pro, "Agents export sequences for you to import; no live round trip yet." The page calls the output "material for an editor to review and refine, not a guarantee of a finished, approved video."

If you already pay for Premiere, note its generative features run on their own credits too, which we covered in Premiere generative media credits vs PilotCut.

Why is PilotCut the pick on Windows?

PilotCut runs on macOS and ships a Windows Beta. It is free during beta, and there is no PilotCut credit meter.

How is PilotCut built?

PilotCut was built for agents from day one. This is the editing surface your agent drives:

  • Your agent, no meter. Claude Code, ChatGPT Codex, Grok Build, GitHub Copilot, OpenCode or Antigravity bill to the plan you already pay for. PilotCut is free during beta.
  • 83 purpose-built editing tools. The tools you click are the tools your agent uses, on the same timeline.
  • Edits that change meaning show the plan first. A timeline cut, transcript cuts, generated chapters, caption import and patch, and a voiceover or camera swap come back as a plan. A second step applies it.
  • Local footage. Media and the project stay on your machine. Prompts and any frames the agent inspects follow your agent's provider.
  • Hand off to Final Cut Pro. Ask your agent to write a Final Cut Pro project from the current timeline.
